Our Sincere Gratitude

We’ve been blessed with an outpouring of technical support from our community.

We’ve been blessed with an outpouring of technical support from our community. And we wish to express our sincere gratitude to these businesses, and their staff. We’ve spent a great deal of time with Chad Wolf and his team reviewing details of the proposed design and fletching out concerns on maintenance, finishes and potential risks. Chad networked us with Bob Kelly and Dusty Graham of Core Architects, both veterans of the Army and Navy who volunteered their architectural services to support this effort. They teamed with ESI Inc. to perform a complete survey and mapping of the proposed site at JB Hunt Park and reached out to Conor O’Shea to gather all the data he had to develop a full set of working conceptual drawings. They shared these drawings with Milestone Construction Company Scott Jones and Mike Davis who then completed a schematic design cost estimate.

From this initial effort the team conducted an iterative analysis of value engineering to make numerous revisions to the design that would refine both the intent of the design as well as the overall cost of the project. Once this effort was completed, the team reached out to the Fay Jones School of Architecture and coordinated with Dean Peter MacKeith and Justin Tucker to build the three-dimensional model. This project was used as a teaching aid this past spring as students in the Fay Jones design studio analyzed the best way to represent the layout of this memorial and hand make the 530 trees surrounding the space. Again, I’d like to thank each of these individuals and organizations for their tremendous this past year and especial Core-Architects for providing funding to support the construction of the model.
